Asan N’jie has been summoned for 'emergency crisis talks with ITV' as his future on the soap hangs in the balance following his ugly brawl with Jamie Lomas.
The Emmerdale actor was caught on camera throwing punches at Jamie in front of shocked celebrities at The TV Choice Awards on Monday night.
Asan, whose character Ellis Chapman has been involved in a knife attack storyline, bellowed at 44-year-old Jamie: “Do you think you are a f*****g big man? I’m going to f*****g kill you. I’m going to f*****g knife you.”
ITV have now spoken out on the shocking footage, published by the Mirror , and revealed they have called Asan in for talks.
A spokesperson confirmed in a statement: "We are extremely concerned to hear about an incident at last night’s TV Choice Awards involving one of Emmerdale’s cast.
“Obviously we will be investigating and talking to the actor concerned in due course."
Before the row kicked off, Asan had been enjoying an evening with his co-stars at the showbiz bash at the Hilton Park Lane hotel in London's Mayfair district.
But he was later thrown out after his row with Jamie turned viscious.
The pair were pulled apart by security twice while I'm A Celebrity star Malique Thompson-Dwyer tried to take his friend Jamie away from the row.
The Emmerdale star fled the awards with his friend 15 minutes after security intervened.
Viewers of the ITV soap have now demanded Asan be sacked from the show for his 'disgusting' behaviour.
One fan tweeted: "Emmerdale hope you have immediately sacked Asan N'Jie!!! It is not ok to threaten to knife someone. Absolutely disgusting behaviour.
"Asan N’Jie threatened to kill a man with a knife while representing @emmerdale that’s absolutely disgusting," said another.
A third made a plea to bosses: "ITV you need to sack Asan N'jie. 'I'll knife you'? In this current climate of knife crime? Absolute disgrace."
