Ayda Field revealed husband Robbie Williams had testosterone levels ‘of an 80 year old man’ before couple welcomed third child via surrogate

The X Factor's Ayda Field and Robbie Williams have shocked fans by revealing that they’ve welcomed a third child, a daughter named Coco, via a surrogate after a "long and difficult" path to having another baby.

The 39 year old, who has been married to the former Take That star since 2010, opened up on her husband’s decision to use testosterone injections after being told in his 30s that his levels of the hormone were equivalent to that of an 80 year old man.

Speaking on Loose Women, Ayda said: "Robbie suffered with low testosterone, and for some men it means a loss of libido, but it was nothing to do with that for him.

"He had lethargy and depression. He actually didn’t know, and we got his blood panels done and they said he had the testosterone of an 80 year old man."

She continued: "He was in his 30s at the time. I think he was surprised. The minute he took the testosterone he felt as though he had a new lease on life, he could do things, he was happy, he was motivated and it had nothing to do with getting big muscles."

Ayda, who shares two children, daughter Theodora and son Charlton, with Robbie, explained that she was proud of Robbie for talking about his struggles.

"It was probably a bit emasculating but I didn’t want to circle on that, I didn’t want to go, ‘Do you feel like less of a man?’ Look, why should a man in his 30s have the testosterone levels of an 80 year old man?

"There’s this thing with men where they’re not allowed to talk about these things, I’m so proud of him because he’s always so open about his struggles."

The new X Factor judges shocked fans on Friday as they announced that they now had a newborn baby daughter, having given fans no previous warning that she was on the way.

The Let Me Entertain You singer's wife shared the news on Instagram, revealing that they had welcomed a gorgeous baby girl and announcing her unique name.

"I spy with my little eye an extra little hand. So we have been keeping a very special secret!," she wrote.

"We are delighted to share with you that we have had a baby girl….welcome to the world Colette (Coco) Josephine Williams!!

"It has been a very long and difficult path to get here, which is why we have kept it on the down low. Family comes in all forms, and this little lady, who is biologically ours, was carried by an incredible surrogate mother, to whom we will be eternally grateful. We are over the moon to have this beautiful baby girl in our lives and so blessed that we live in a world which makes this possible."
