Emmerdale cast favourite Charley Webb, 33, has admitted the prospect of her five-year-old son Bowie getting his signature long hair cut off made her feel “nervous” today. The Debbie Dingle actress, who shares three sons with her husband and Emmerdale co-star Matthew Wolfenden, revealed she isn’t a big fan of change as she prepared to take her boys to the hairdressers.

It comes after the soap star previously hit back at Instagram users for criticising Bowie’s hair, which he usually wears shoulder length.

Speaking out on her son’s wish for shorter locks, Charley shared her emotions in an Instagram video, which she shared with her 502,000 followers.

The mum-of-three explained: “I’m getting the boys’ haircut after school, I’m just waiting to pick them up and I’m so nervous.”

Detailing her reservations about the appointment, she added: “Really hate getting their hair cut as I always hate it for nine days.

“I hate change but it will be fine but Bowie wants to go short, so that’s what we’re doing, which makes me feel even more nervous…”

Charley went on to admit she never wants her sons’ hair to be too short

She continued: “The hairdressers are one of the most stressful places I have to go to with the kids in my life because I really struggle with it and the hairdressers always get really stressed as I’m like ‘don’t don’t, not too much, don’t cut there, ooh, that’s too short.’ They hate me – I’d hate me”

Despite her fears, Charley braved the hairdressers and showed a clip of Bowie’s hair clippings on the floor of the salon.

She then took a snap of the youngster showing off his new look.

Bowie was pictured smiling for the camera as he went to grab a sweet from a jar in the salon.

Fortunately, Charley quickly got used to her son’s transformation, as she captioned the picture: “Love.”

Back in 2019, the actress slammed trolls for mocking her children over their appearances.

She told MailOnline: “I just don’t have time for anyone like that.

“I always find it so bizarre that anyone who be negative towards someone they don’t know, especially someone’s children that’s bizarre.

“I sort of think that people should think more about what they’re saying on social media.”

The star continued: continued: “I mean, kids are growing up with social media being apart of their lives and it terrifies me that people are taking their own lives just from someone sat behind a computer they never met.

“I can’t ever imagine writing to somebody and being negative saying. ‘I don’t like the way you look’. It’s just not normal.”

The soap star previously shared a photo of her eldest son Buster wearing a T-shirt branded with the words: “Long hair, don’t care.”

She captioned the post: “I get asked so many times on here why my kids have got long hair. ‘Why don’t you cut it?’ Or, ‘they look like girls’.

“The answer is really simple, because we like it and more importantly they like it. I absolutely don’t feel like I need to explain it to anyone who has an opinion but I just think life would be so much easier if we all just focused on our own lives.

“Don’t let my kids hair worry you. I think people think they have a right to have an opinion because of social media. Maybe you do. But try keeping it to yourself, it’s not important to us what you think of how our kids look.”
