As she celebrated turning 39, Rebekah Vardy decided to reflect on her past as she wrote a letter to the younger version of herself as a blog post on her website.

The Dancing On Ice star, who showed off her epic Rachel from Friends transformation, shared her letter for her fans to see and reassured her teenage self.

In her note to self, the 39 year old references her alleged abuse at the age of 14 as well as her suicide attempt at 15.

She began: "I'm sorry that I kept you hidden away for a very long time. I did it because I wanted to protect you.

"So much bad stuff happened that hurt you early on. I thought that keeping you away from the world was the only way to keep you safe.

"I didn't want anyone else to hurt you, so I only allowed a few people to meet you. I put up big walls.

"They are getting to know the Bex who isn't guarded and distrusting. The Bex who sees the good in people and loves life."

Rebekah added: "Every poor or destructive choice you made in your teens and twenties sprung from what that adult did to you."

The mum-of-five went on to speak about her marriage with Leicester City footballer Jamie Vardy.

She told her teenage self: "I swear to you that a man who you aren't scared of and who doesn't treat you badly will love you one day.

"He will become your husband and he will treat you in a way that you aren't used to being treated – with respect and kindess.

"You'll have beautiful children together and I promise you Bex that you will live happily ever after," she concluded.

The brunette beauty, who has 'come to a temporary truce' with Coleen Rooney, is currently competing on Dancing On Ice.

Ahead of Sunday's episode, Rebekah said she was "petrified" about doing the dreaded headbanger stunt after it left a previous skater needing stitches.

Speaking to The Sun on Sunday, she divulged: "It's petrifying, but I'm an adrenaline junkie and I trust Andy completely.

"I know he would never let anything bad happen to me. It's given me a vote of confidence to be able to do those things."
