Float Fest Canceled Following "Several Recent Roadblocks"

Organizers of the annual Float Fest announced they have been forced to cancel this year’s festival, with an official statement citing “several recent roadblocks outside of our control.”

Portugal. The Man, Major Lazer, Gucci Mane, Kaskade, Zeds Dead, Ice Cube, Big Gigantic and The Flaming Lips were among the headliners scheduled to perform at the festival.

Having moved the festival to Gonzales, Texas, after Guadalupe County Commissioners denied them permission to hold the event on the San Marcos River, the organizers faced several challenges.

“We have been working around the clock to prepare the new festival site in Gonzales, but at this time we don’t feel the grounds are ready to fully showcase everything Float Fest is about,” the organizers said.

“With weather, Gonzales saw an extraordinary amount of rain in May and June,” they added. “Although the site cleared, the rain created delays of construction. We want to provide a first class experience to our fans, therefore we will be finishing out the site so that it is ready for the festival in 2020.”

The organizers have assured fans that their tickets will be 100% refunded in the coming 5-7 business days and that the festival will be back in 2020 at the same venue.

“We appreciate you sticking by us while we work hard to make this right,” the statement concluded.
