Sharon Osbourne, 68, exited the American talk show The Talk earlier this year after becoming embroiled in a row over her friend Piers Morgan. However, the star has said she’s now put her television career behind her after 30 years in front of the camera.
The outspoken television personality quit The Talk earlier this year following the fall-out of Piers’ comments.
As many will remember, Piers controversially stated he didn’t believe a word Meghan Markle had said following her interview with Oprah Winfrey.
This had seen the Duchess of Sussex and her husband Prince Harry discussing leaving the Royal Family.
During the landmark chat, Meghan had spoken about her mental health battle as well as revealing how a member of the Royal household had asked how dark her son Archie Harrison’s skin would be.
Appearing on The Talk at the time, Sharon defended Piers’ over his right to make these comments, which led her to clash with co-host Sheryl Underwood.
The series then went off the air for four weeks, during which time Sharon announced she had quit.
CBS also released a statement stating “Sharon’s behaviour toward her co-hosts during the March 10 episode did not align with our values for a respectful workplace.”
The former X Factor judge has now opened up on her exit, stating she won’t return to the screen.
She explained in a candid admission: “You got to evolve.
“What am I going to do? Am I going to be a judge again? No.
“I’m not going to go on another TV show that’s talk because I know right now it’s not a safe place to be.”
Sharon went on to explain to DailyMailTV she didn’t want to experience the “grief” of cancel culture again.
“The slightest thing and you’ve p***ed off half the nation and I don’t want to put myself up for that grief,” she continued. “I really don’t.”
Sharon did admit she’s planning on working behind the scenes in the future.
As well as this, she and her husband Ozzy Osbourne are working on a biopic about their relationship.
Sharon first appeared on screens back on the TV film Billy’s Shout when husband Ozzy was interviewed.
However, she became a household name after appearing on the reality series The Osbournes.
She appeared in 52 episodes of the fly-on-the-wall show from 2002 until 2005.
Sharon has also been the host of The Sharon Osbourne Show and a judge on The X Factor and America’s Got Talent.
Most recently, she appeared as a co-host on The Talk from 2010 until 2021.
