Joe Wicks somehow still exercising 22 hours into Children In Need PE Challenge

You may just be staggering out of bed with one eye open, but Joe Wicks is somehow still exercising.

The 34-year-old is two hours away from finishing his epic 24 hour PE Challenge for Children In Need, but there’s no easing off on the movement, as at 7am Joe was powering away on a spin bicycle.

After exercising through the night, the Body Coach was joined by cycling legend Mark Cavendish MBE, who asked Joe how he was feeling.

And unsurprisingly, he’s feeling pretty rough.

He said: ‘I feel awful. I feel like I’ve cycled the Tour de France by myself.’

Joking the stunt was ‘horrible, don’t do it’, the fitness instructor added that he felt ‘sick and shaky, and despite having burnt over 9,000 calories, Joe said: ‘I don’t even feel hungry, I feel sick.’

Joe said the first thing he’d do post-marathon would be to fall into bed, and he might have a much deserved burger and chips later on.

However, he has a whole PE class to lead before he gets to fall into bed, as Joe’s gruelling challenge will end at 9.25 with a 20 minute HITT class.

BBC Radio 2’s Zoe Ball also joined Joe to give him a boost, reading out supportive messages from fans and patching through a call from his mum.

But the biggest smile came on Joe’s face as Zoe read out the total raised for Children In Need so far – £624,270.

There’s still another two hours to go, so that total could rocket as Joe approaches the finish line.

Over the 24 hours, Joe has cycled, ran on treadmills, done his signature HITT classes, yoga and rowing, and even had a dance-off with Sporty Spice Mel C.

Joe, who became a lockdown hero with his free PE classes for kids on YouTube this year, is the latest celeb to take on a crazy 24 hour challenge to raise money to help disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.

Last year, Rylan Clark-Neal completed 24 hours of karaoke, while in 2018, Strictly Come Dancing’s Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly raised £1 million with a 24 hour danceathon.
