Amanda Holden struggles to put on skin tight dress
Les Dennis married Amanda Holden in 1995 when she was 22 years old and he was 40.
The pair divorced 20 years ago, but it seems that his former flame isn’t too far from his mind as Les previously joked in 2019 about their age gap in a resurfaced clip.
The actor now 69 recalled a funny incident in the pair’s marriage while appearing on the RHLSTP podcast with Richard Herring.
He shared: “In our house in Highgate and it was the Grand National Day and the plumber was there and Amanda came running in saying, ‘We need to put a bet on, it’s the Grand National’.
“So I said, ‘OK ten quid’ and she went ‘We need to put more than that on’. I went, ’20’ and the plumber went, ‘Kids ey’,” prompting the audience to erupt into fits of laughter.
The clip was shared on Twitter by a fan of Les, who captioned it: “Les Dennis actually being very funny”.
It has already wracked up over 100,000 views and has been liked over 600 times.
Fans shared their amusement at the clip as they praised the comedian’s sense of humour.
@Dinkyuncle typed: “I’ve never met him, but I guess that Les Dennis is a lovely guy and virtually a national treasure.”

@MadeinStaines added: “Les strikes me as a likeable and amusing man.”
Amanda has always spoken highly of Les and has since revealed their divorce was the “worst time of her life”.
She told Daily Mail at the time: “I brought it on myself, I appreciate that, but nothing will ever be as bad again. It was a very dark time. It got to the point where I felt I could hardly breathe.
“Les proved to be my saviour. Ironically. So the person I’d hurt the most in the world was the one who was there for me.”
It comes as Les also appeared to make a cheeky dig at his ex-wife after she posted sultry photos online.
The Britain’s Got Talent judge took to Instagram to share a series of pics from a recent trip to Paris.
Posing in a short red dress, the 52-year-old shared a snap of herself drinking a cocktail at a bar.
Over on his own social media hours later, ex-husband Les tweeted a photo of himself looking in the mirror in what looked like a dressing room.
In an apparent response to his former wife Amanda’s glam trip, the 69-year-old captioned the post: “Not in Paris. In Leicester.”
