Line of Duty fans have been speculating whether there will be a season seven in recent weeks in the run up to the mystery ‘H’ being revealed. Ahead of the finale tonight, Vicky McClure, 37, and Martin Compston, 36, shared lengthy posts addressing their time on the current series coming to an end.
It’s been a wild few weeks and mental 10 years with the most amazing cast & crews.
But, fans are convinced the stars’ emotional posts imply that it could be the final series.
Taking to her Instagram page with 514,000 followers, the Detective Inspector Kate Fleming star shared various snaps with her co-stars alongside a lengthy caption.
She began: “Please excuse the slightly over emotional post but it’s been quite a surreal time!
“The audience support has been unreal, the creativity of merchandise, the artwork, ground breaking viewing figures and the hype!!

“It’s not lost on me how lucky I am to be a part of Line of Duty, not just because of the success of the show but the life long friendships we’ve all gained.”
Vicky went on to praise the “talented and caring crew” including this series’ acting Detective Superintendent Joanne Davidson, played by Kelly Macdonald.
She added: “Raising my brew to you Jed Mercurio! The epitome of honesty & integrity. @mrmartincompston & Adrian I love you‘s 29!
“Now…let’s wrap this up.”
Many of the actress’ fans flocked to her post to share their thoughts.
One commented: “My anxiety is through the ROOF, this can’t be the end.”
A second added: “Most anticipated episode in TV history, and while I NEED to see it, I don’t want it to be over.”
A third asked: “Omg does this mean it’s the last one?”
Martin also took to his Twitter page to share an emotional statement.
The Steve Arnott actor shared a collage of snaps from his time on the show, including one with Vicky and one with his AC-12 colleague Adrian Dunbar, who plays Ted Hastings.
The Line Of Duty star commented: “Been a wild few weeks and mental 10 years with the most amazing cast & crews.
“None more so than the 3 below who I’d be lost without.

One of his 452,000 followers commented: “This sounds like a signing off tweet? It better not be after the day us Celtic fans have had.”
A second wrote: “Why are these tweets feeling like this is the end?”
A third added: “Very much ‘farewell’ language on the tweets I’m seeing from cast and crew. Say it aint so!”
On The Jonathan Ross Show this weekend, Martin and Vicky said they don’t know if there will be another series, but suggested there could be if there’s a story to tell.
Line Of Duty season six airs tonight at 9pm on BBC One.
