Demi Jones has called out a troll who sent her an awful message on social media this week. The 22-year-old reality star, who rose to fame in the winter edition of Love Island, posted a picture of the “unacceptable” comment on Instagram in view of her 1.2 million followers.
“Please don’t be that person,” she urged users alongside the screenshot, which she shared on her Story.
Demi, who previously said she never responds to trolls, was clearly so upset by the message that she had to address it.
Her social media post showed a comment which had been circled in red.
It read: “Hahaha you got cancer @demijones.”
Demi hit back: “I never respond to trolls but unfortunately this kind of thing is unacceptable.
“Please don’t be that person. Thank you for all the other kindness,” she continued, thanking those who had been supportive following her devastating news.
Demi told fans that she had been diagnosed with Thyroid cancer earlier this month after a biopsy confirmed her worst fears.
She opened up about her health after finding a lump in her neck in order to raise awareness and encourage others to get checked if they had any concerns.
The ITV star said she would be undergoing more surgery in the near future in her update.
“Hi guys, I got my results today and unfortunately I have Thyroid cancer.
“The tumour has been removed but I’m now due to have more surgery to remove the rest of my Thyroid.
“I’m staying very positive and I’m a strong girl so I’ll be fine, thank you for your love and support always,” she added.

Earlier this week, Demi spoke out about some of the negative messages she had received online after opening up.
During an appearance on Good Morning Britain she revealed that cruel trolls had accused her of lying about her health.
Demi told Tuesday’s hosts Susanna Reid and Bill Turnbull that on the whole she had been inundated with support, however there had been some “nasty comments”.
“I’ve been really lucky that I haven’t experienced a lot of trolling but even with my cancer, I’ve had nasty comments.
“Like people saying oh she’s lying, she’s this, she’s that, and I woke up and saw my comments and thought this is ridiculous, but yeah unfortunately there are people out there like that.”
“I don’t respond to anything, I never respond to trolling on social media, it’s not worth my time and I’m really strong about it anyway.
“But it makes me sad, I’m not lying about this at all, it’s a really serious thing and I don’t want to be going through this,” Demi continued.
