Marvel has confirmed Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will be released next summer.
The company – which is owned by Disney – dropped a surprise bombshell today with the full slate of movies set to drop as part of phase four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
There is plenty to get excited about, and one of the major bits of news from the beautiful teaser trailer is that the Black Panther sequel will hit the big screen on July 8, 2022.
There is plenty on tap over the next two years, with the studio wasting no time by revealing every release in a breath-taking video.
In just two months, the highly anticipated Black Widow standalone film will be released on July 9, with Shangi-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings following on September 3.
Eternals – with the first bit of footage also revealed in the teaser – drops on November 5, with Spider-Man: No Way Home rounding off 2021’s offerings on December 17.
Moving into next year, Marvel fans will be looking forward to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness on March 25, and Thor: Love and Thunder just two months later on May 6.
As noted, Wakanda Forever then drops on July 8, followed by The Marvels on November 11 – but that’s not all.
Kicking off 2023 in style, February 17 sees the release of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has been confirmed for May 5.
The announcement also featured late Marvel icon Stan Lee, who delivered a message to fans around the world as cinema is poised to make a comeback after the pandemic.
He said: ‘I love being with people, it’s the most incredible thing in the world. That world may change and evolve, but the one thing that will never change: we’re all part of one big family.
‘That man next to you, he’s your brother. That woman over there, she’s your sister. We’re all part of one universe that moves ever upward and onward to greater glory.’
Not surprisingly, fans were delighted by the big reveal.
One tweeted: ‘I ain’t ever had to ask Marvel for anything. All I required was that they do what they do and they have. 10 years down and another 10 to go. What an epic Universe. R.I.P Stan Lee I’ll see you guys at the movies’.
Another added: ‘Marvel just casually dropping The Eternals, Spider-Man No Way Home, Wakanda Forever, The Marvels and then tease us with a Fantastic Four logo right at the end. I NEED THESE MOVIES NOW (sic)’
