In An Audience With Adele at the London Palladium, the crowd was packed with stars. This included the likes of Phillip Schofield, who had the misfortune of sitting behind Boy George.

The latter has been mocked on social media after he was seen wearing an enormous, view-blocking hat at the concert.

The singer, 60, paired the large blue hat with a bright pink polka dot jacket.

Fans felt sorry for Phillip, who was sitting directly behind George, making it difficult for him to be able to see what was going on.

Some felt the giant blue hat was somewhat “inconsiderate” and expressed their sympathy for Phillip, but thankfully he has seen the funny side.

Mia McHugh tweeted a picture of Phillip peering around behind Boy George trying to get a look at the stage and captioned it: “When you can’t see from behind Boy George’s hat @Schofe.”

Phillip, clearly amused, retweeted the post with three crying-laughing emojis.

Under the post his fans sent in their condolences and thoughts on the hat situation.

Tiredtash wrote: “Screaming I was wondering what poor soul was sat behind him and it was Phil.”(sic)

Sophie Stead commented: “We caught the last ten minutes and only saw the hat from a distance.

“I said ‘I bet that’s Boy George in the hat!’ Poor b****r whoever’s sat behind him!’”

“We actually commented last night saying we would really peed off if we were sat behind Boy George!!” Wallace79Rc added with laughing emojis.

Some of Phillip’s 4.4 million Twitter followers didn’t find it quite so funny, admitting that Phillip would have every right to be angry at having his view obscured on such a special night.

Meanwhile, Adele appeared to be having the time of her life at the concert, which was put together in celebration of her new album, 30.

After the show went out she tweeted: “Home Sweet Home. I’ve always dreamt of doing An Audience With…

“There was so much love in the room for each other, it felt like such a gig!

“Everyone was raucous and bang up for it! And my teacher Ms McDonald was there, it was just heaven.”

The concert’s attendees included Adele’s friends and family as well as a number of high-profile guests, including the likes of Emma Watson, Gareth Southgate, Samuel L Jackson, Bryan Cranston, Dua Lipa and Dawn French.

An Audience With Adele aired last night on ITV and can now be streamed on ITV Hub.
