Shania Twain Speaks on Taylor Swift Controversy Ahead of AMAs 2019

Shania Twain is voicing her thoughts on Taylor Swift‘s ongoing battle with her former record label.

The 54-year-old “You’re Still the One” singer recently shared her opinion about the controversy ahead of the 29-year-old “You Need To Calm Down” crooner’s 2019 American Music Awards performance.

When asked about Taylor’s claim that she was banned from performing her older songs at the event, Shania told USA Today, “I don’t know a lot about the details of that, but I’m a big supporter of Taylor.”

“I think she’s just incredibly brilliant,” Shania added. “I haven’t had a chance to talk to her about it and I don’t really know where everybody is coming from, but I’ll always support the artist and their access to their own music. It seems a bit ridiculous to not have that.”

Taylor Swift has since been given permission to perform all of her tracks for her AMAs performance.

Shania Twain will also perform at the AMAs for the first time since 2003!
