TikTok is reportedly planning on suing the Trump Administration.
According to NPR, the video-sharing app will file a federal lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California as soon as this Tuesday (August 11). NPR cited an anonymous source “directly involved in the forthcoming suit.”
TikTok’s decision to file the lawsuit comes after President Trump issued an executive order banning the app from the United States.
The Trump Administration weighed their concerns about the app because of its parent company, ByteDance, who may or may not be sharing data of American users with the Chinese government.
TikTok recently released a statement saying it was “shocked by the recent Executive Order, which was issued without any due process.”
