Why it rocks: Aly & AJ basically underscored your entire angsty pre-teen existence, and this song was no different. It was an anthem that told you to embrace the person you are, AND it had slammin’ guitar lines.

Memorable lyrics: ♪ “I don’t want another pretty face, I don’t want just anyone to hold, I don’t want my love to go to waste, I want you and your beautiful soul.” ♪
Why it rocks: Jesse McCartney was your first teen idol. He walked so Justin Bieber could run.
3.“Push It to the Limit” by Corbin Bleu
Memorable lyrics: ♪ “Push it, push it to the limit, limit. ‘Cause we’re in it to win it, in it to win it. Oh yeah!” ♪
Why it rocks: It was stuck in your head for months and really made you wanna push life to the limit. It never even bothered you that it was actually about a game of Double Dutch.
4.“Wake Up” by Hilary Duff
Memorable lyrics: ♪ “Wake up, wake up on a Saturday night. Could be New York, maybe Hollywood and Vine. London, Paris, maybe Tokyo, there’s something going on anywhere I go tonight.” ♪
Why it rocks: Another song that came out when you were suuuper young and had no means of traveling to London, Paris, or Tokyo for the night. Regardless, you — a 6-year-old — were ready to take on the world.
5.“Amigas Cheetahs” by The Cheetah Girls
Memorable lyrics: ♪ “Amigas cheetahs, friends for life. The rhythm and each other, that’s what keeps us tight.” ♪
Why it rocks: You and your friends probably pretended to be the Cheetah Girls during recess and this was the song you always sang.
6.“Sneakernight” by Vanessa Hudgens
Memorable lyrics: ♪ “Basically what we’re gonna do is dance. Yeah, that’s right, it’s sneaker night!” ♪
Why it rocks: This song honestly seemed like just a really vivid fever dream, but it was oh-so-very real. Light-up sneakers, Vanessa Hudgens, and her girl group dancing at the club — what else could you even need?
7.“He Could Be The One” by Hannah Montana
Memorable lyrics: ♪ “He’s got somethin’ special, he’s got somethin’ special. And when he’s lookin’ at me I wanna get all sentimental.” ♪
Why it rocks: You definitely still have very strong feelings about the love triangle that inspired this song. Being either Team Jesse or Team Jake was about as important as being Team Edward or Team Jacob.
8.“He Said She Said” by Ashley Tisdale
Memorable lyrics: ♪ “Baby, I can see us movin’ like that (like that). Baby, I can see us touchin’ like that (like that). Baby, I can see us kissin’ like that (like that).” ♪
Why it rocks: When this song came out, you were probably in middle school and not movin’, touchin’, or kissin’ ANYONE at all. Nevertheless, this song made you feel like you were the baddest bitch in the sixth grade.
9.“Best Friend’s Brother” by the Victorious Cast feat. Victoria Justice
Memorable lyrics: ♪ “I don’t want to, but I want to, ’cause I just can’t get him out of my mind! Yeeeeaaah! My best friend’s brother is the one for me.” ♪
Why it rocks: Chances are your best friend’s brother was about 7 when this song came out. However, 14-year-old you LIVED for the the idea of dating a punk rock drummer who was 6’3”.
10.“Ready or Not” by Bridgit Mendler
Memorable lyrics: ♪ “Ready or not, here I come. Where you at? The night is young. In the crowd the music’s loud, but I will find you.” ♪
Why it rocks: This song — like the rest of Bridgit Mendler’s discography — is a certified bop. You 100% jammed out to it way after Disney Channel was deemed ~uncool~ for teenagers.
11.“Replay” by Zendaya
Memorable lyrics: ♪ “Wanna put this song on replay. I can listen to it all day. I can listen to you all day.” ♪
Why it rocks: This was Zendaya’s ~official~ entrance into the music world. And TBH, this was definitely a song you could listen to on replay.
12.“Outside Looking In” by Jordan Pruitt
Memorable lyrics: ♪ “You don’t know what it’s like to be left out. And you don’t know how it feels to be your own best friend. On the outside looking in.” ♪
Why it rocks: This song was the epitome of “angsty songs you’d stare out your window and cry to.” It was literally just as dramatic in 2007 as it is in 2019.
13.“Crazy Car” by The Naked Brothers Band
Memorable lyrics: ♪ “Crazy car to lead me nowhere, lead me nowhere. Actually, it’s made for that, made for that.” ♪
Why it rocks: You heard this song once, it was basically stuck in your head for the rest of your childhood. Younger you also loved the thrill of liking a band called “The Naked Brothers Band.”
14.“About You Now” by Miranda Cosgrove
Memorable lyrics: ♪ “Can we bring yesterday back around? ‘Cause I know how I feel about you now. I was dumb, I was wrong, I’ve let you down. But I know how I feel about you now.” ♪
Why it rocks: This was 100% the song you sang to yourself when your middle school boyfriend started dating someone else the day after you dumped him.

Why it rocks: Contrary to the lyrics, you definitely did think about this song.

Why it rocks: This song hit big just as BTR became your new boy band obsession AND when you were actually looking for a boyfriend. Snoop Dogg’s feature is also an added bit of fun to an undeniably great song.
17.“Introducing Me” by Nick Jonas
Memorable lyrics: ♪ “I eat cheese, but only on pizza, please. And sometimes on a homemade quesadilla. Otherwise it smells like feet to me.” ♪
Why it rocks: Younger you WISHED your crush would sing this to you. However, you knew in your heart no one could really top Nick Jonas.

Why it rocks: This Selena Gomez bop is THE song you sang in your head whenever your crush walked by. If only they knew you were meant to be!!!

Why it rocks: There’s literally nothing less relatable than being a teen movie star, and yet this song was a must-listen in 2010. It was truly a certified bop.

Why it rocks: There never existed a song more powerful than this. Middle school was rough, but Demi and these lyrics got you through.

Why it rocks: This song had literally every single Disney Channel star you cared about in one music video, AND it was a fun new remix of a classic song. It was no doubt one of the highlights of your youth.
