A Place in the Sun's Laura Hamilton's 'worst news' after son taken to hospital

A Place in the Sun presenter Laura Hamilton has shared the ‘worst news’ after her son was taken to hospital.

The property expert and TV presenter has appeared on the show since 2012, helping people find their dream property on the market abroad.

Closer to home, Laura, 40, is also the mother to two children, Rocco and Tahlia.

However, this week she revealed her son had been hospitalised with a nasty injury.

On Wednesday she shared an x-ray of a hand to her Instagram Story, starting the post by writing: ‘This morning’s antics.’

‘Poor Rocco has a buckle fracture to his wrist!’ she said.

She added: ‘No contact sport for six weeks… The worst news for a sports obsessed little boy.’

Around the same time last year Rocco was also admitted to hospital after becoming unwell.

In March 2022 Laura shared a photo of his arm with an IV line and a machine dosing his medication as she held his hand.

She told her followers: ‘The last few days have been interesting to say the least…’

‘Being a Mum is THE most important job in the world and no matter what Rocco and Tahlia will ALWAYS come first.

‘This brave little boy has been through it over the last few weeks and I just want to thank the NHS for helping him get better.’

Laura shares Rocco and Thalia with ex-husband Alex Goward, whom she announced her split from early last year.

The couple married in 2012 after three years of dating.

Since the split, Laura has purchased a property to renovate, but has admitted it’s been a huge undertaking.

‘I felt overwhelmed,’ she told Metro.co.uk earlier this year.

‘I’m short on time. Money short. But it is what it is, and it’s my home, and I’m trying to create something special for myself and my children.’

But she added that she felt ‘very fortunate’ to have been able to ‘build something and design something I love’.

A Place in the Sun is streaming on All4.
