The latest step in the reimagining of the house is the completion of their newest London store, which sits at No.1 Sloane Street. Like Tisci’s collection, the store is a melding of old and new: Terrazzo tiles and ceramics nestle alongside stainless steel and high-gloss finishes, in a grid-like formation inspired by the brand’s famous house check.
To mark the opening, the architect Vincenzo De Cotiis, who masterminded the store (and who’s best known for his otherworldy, sculptural furniture), sat down to discuss the creative process behind the project, and how he interpreted Burberry’s new era.
