Burger King is the latest fast-food chain to put a limited spin on its fried chicken sandwich with its new Ch’King Sandwich. They’ve chosen to do it during this year’s pride month, committing a 40 cents donation to the Human Rights Campaign (the largest LGBTQ+ rights organization in the US) for every burger sold.
The Ch’king comes with a generous piece of fried chicken, a special mayo sauce, spicy sauce, and grilled pickles. Burger King recently tweeted: “during #pride month (even on Sundays) your chicken sandwich craving can do good!” Throwing some shade at Chick-Fil-A, which is famously closed on Sundays as referenced in Kanye West‘s track “Closed on Sunday.” Chick-Fil-A in the past has been under fire for its donations to right-wing causes, though the chain does not make those donations any longer.
