With each anthemic hit, Lizzo is proving that music videos don’t have to be a relic of years past. After releasing “Tempo” with her “hero” Missy Elliott several months ago, the effervescent singer just shared a an unapologetically fabulous video to match the song’s body-confident message. (The song’s hook, as a reminder, goes: “I’m a thick b*tch, I need tempo.”)
In the downright exuberant video, Lizzo wears a sequin underwear set with a red cowboy hat and blue faux-fur crape as she’s surrounded by twerking ladies and hydraulic lowriders. Oh, and Elliott, a music video icon herself, of course makes an appearance. Press play on the video above and hype yourself up for the weekend.
