Over 40,0000 revellers will head to Marlay Park on Friday as the three day Longitude festival will see massive headliners A$AP Rocky on Friday, Stormzy on Saturday and Cardi B on Sunday.
Here’s everything you need to know:
WEATHER
Aside from line-up it’s probably the most important factor for an outdoor festival and while there will be some sun there is also a chance of rain so bring those ponchos. It will be pretty dull and cloudy over the weekend with patchy rain as well as drier intervals. Met Eireann forecasts patchy rain on Saturday morning but will sunny spells later. Top temperatures will reach 16-22 degrees. Sasturday will be mostly dry with a few spots of rain and Sunday will be dull or cloudy with outbreaks of rain and drizzle. Top temperatures will be 16 to 21 degrees.
TRAVEL AND TRANSPORT
Attendees are advised to allow at least two extra hours for travel to and from the venue. Gates open at 1.30pm each day and it is advised to start planning travel arrangements in advance and to use public transport as there is limited private parking available on the site.
Marathon Travel will be operating a bus service from Custom House Quay in the city centre direct to Marlay Park and Travel Master will operate bus services from Cork, Kerry, Waterford, Tippereary, Limerick, Kilkenny, Carlow, Laois, Galway, Westmeath, Meath, Sligo, Leitrim, Longford, Mayo and Roscommon directly to the park.
The Luas Green Line will operate to Dundrum and a shuttle bus will transport revellers to the park too.
Swords Express will run a special return bus service from Malahide directly to the park from the Pavillions shopping centre.
Private buses and national bus coaches will provide return services to and from the park, including Matthew’s, Farrelly’s, JJ Kavanagh & Sons, Wexford Bus, Kelly Travel and Irish Concert Travel coach hires.
Disabled access will be provided through College Road.
All attendees will be searched upon arrival and are advised to not bring backpacks or large handbacks as there will be no cloakroom or storage facilities on site.
Prohibited items include alcohol, glass, aerosols, spray cans, umbrellas and inflatable furniture as well as metal reusable water bottles.
Gardaí have also warned that revellers who rock up intoxicated to the park will be refused entry.
TICKETS
There are limited tickets available from Ticketmaster for around €79.50 for a day ticket and €199.50 for a weekend ticket.
Attenees are also urged to check the validity of their tickets before they arrive at the venue.
“We’d like to ask people to check their tickets in particular- we had minor issues last year in relation to people maybe buying tickets from unauthorised sellers, so [they should] check the validity of their tickets before they arrive,” Spt Ian Lacken said yesterday.
“Invite everyone to come along and enjoy their day, with minimal impact to the local residents and the local community,” he added.
