Cressida Bonas’ baby name meaning that features special family tribute

Cressida Bonas has shared that her son is named after her husband’s late brother in heartfelt family tribute.

The 33 year old, who dated Prince Harry between 2012 and 2014, welcomed her first child with husband Harry Wentworth-Stanley in November 2022.

However, the protective couple initially kept their son's name and even his sex a secret.

They've now revealed that they've named their son Wilbur James Wentworth-Stanley, and sources have told the Daily Mail that it’s in honour of Harry’s late brother, James Wentworth-Stanley.

James Wentworth-Stanley tragically took his own life in 2006 aged just 21, when he was studying at Newcastle University.

Despite seeking help for anxiety and suicidal thoughts before his death, James took his own life just ten days after undergoing a minor surgical procedure.

Cressida has previously described her late brother-in-law as “fun, sporty, kind and popular,” and a “golden boy.”

Following James’ tragic death, his family started James’ Place, a charity that aims to help men suffering with suicidal thoughts and other mental health difficulties.

Prince William helped open the charity’s first centre in 2018.

Harry Wentworth-Stanley, 33, married Cressida back in 2020 and the pair welcomed their son back in November 2022 – though they hadn’t revealed his name until now.

Their son’s first name, Wilbur, is of German origin and means “resolute,” or “brilliant.”

Cressida has previously opened up about her experience with IVF and her difficulty getting pregnant in December 2022.

The 33 year old actress said that she was left extremely “frustrated,” as, despite being unable to conceive for more than two years, doctors insisted that there was nothing “fundamentally wrong,” with her body.

Admitting that she felt “powerless,” due to a lack of a solid diagnosis, she eventually turned to IVF to help her conceive.

Fortunately for Cressida and Harry, the procedure worked the first time around and she became pregnant with Wilbur James.
