Girls United Summit: Marsai Martin Checks Her Self Doubt

Saturday evening Girls United held its first ever virtual summit and actress, producer, and entrepreneur Marsai Martin closed out the digital event with a self-to-self check in. Girls United is the ESSENCE platform for all things Gen-Z.

Martin was first globally introduced in the television hit series, “Black-ish,” and has won over many with making major boss moves at just 16-years-old. Last year, the actress executive produced and starred in the movie, “Litttle” with Nia Long and Issa Rae and announced at the end of July her “tiny” talk show coming to Quibi.

For the Girls United summit, Martin addressed what many may say are negative comments by playing herself’s own devil’s advocate. “I’m smarter, I’m way more confident, and I put in the work,” the actress exclaims back at herself when what can be translated as self-doubt being thrown her way.
