Jennifer Lopez brought “Hustlers” to the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami during her Super Bowl 2020 halftime show performance.
The 50-year-old pop phenom, who co-headlined Sunday’s show alongside Shakira, dazzled in a series of stage costumes by Versace — starting with a sleeveless black leather bodysuit and matching chaps, both of which were covered with shining studs and shimmering crystals.
After belting out “Jenny From the Block” and “Get Right” in the edgy ensemble, J.Lo stripped down to a sheer sequined silver catsuit for “Waiting For Tonight,” keeping her stilettos on as she twirled high atop a stripper pole. (Her “Hustlers” alter ego Ramona Vega would be proud.)
Lastly, Lopez celebrated her Latin roots, strutting across the stage in a feathered and embellished cape with the Puerto Rican flag on one side and the American flag on the other.
She later threw off the colorful piece to show off her buckled harness-style bodysuit dripping with metal fringe — an appropriately over-the-top choice for “Let’s Get Loud.”
For that closing number, 43-year-old Shakira matched Lopez in a gold metallic getup of her own; earlier in the show, the “Hips Don’t Lie” hitmaker shimmied in a glittering red crop top and matching fringed miniskirt. Designer Peter Dundas created Shakira’s wardrobe for the halftime show.
Lopez’s black leather look took over 400 hours to embellish, the star’s stylists Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn told The Hollywood Reporter, while her silver catsuit featured 12,000 silver sequins and 15,000 Swarovski crystals.
