McDonald’s fan shares ‘healthy’ Big Mac salad recipe – but viewers are split

A McDonald's fan has split opinion after sharing his recipe to make a "healthy Big Mac".

Lenny Turner came up with the idea of a "Big Mac salad", basically a bunless burger compiled with a large amount of green vegetables, and shared his creation to TikTok.

In the clip, Lenny fries a pack of minced meat in a pan and seasons it with salt, pepper and garlic.

He then assembles the salad by layering the Iceberg lettuce, green leaf lettuce and spinach in a bowl.

Putting the minced meat on top, Lenny garnishes the dish with a handful of grated cheddar, pickles and white onions.

He says: "In my previous video some people asked for the BM Salad recipe. I hope this helps.

“Cooking instructions: Season meat with salt, pepper and garlic.

“Brown meat and let it cool down before adding to the lettuce.

“Mix ingredients and enjoy!"

The clip has racked up a whopping 2.5 million views, but viewers had a mixed reaction to the take on the classic fast food item.

One said: "You're just taking away the bread, it's really not that healthy."

Another wrote: "So a Big Mac without a bun, right?"

Some showed their support and said Lenny's recipe doesn't contain much chemicals.

"Well actually it is healthy, if they are your own at home ingredients, then yes," a woman commented. "Bread is a major factor so you just remove the bread."

A second chimed in: "Mostly fresh vegetables, better quality meat than McDonald's, light sauce, I think this looks great!"
