Tayshia Adams is happy to see Chris Harrison go.

The former “Bachelorette” said it’s only “right” that Harrison is taking a leave as the franchise’s host after recently admitting to “excusing” a “Bachelor” contestant’s past racist behavior.

“Absolutely I think it was the right move,” Adams said on the “Click Bait with Bachelor Nation” podcast this week. “His words affected a lot of people, myself included.”

Controversy has been swirling around Harrison since he gave an interview earlier this month asking fans to give current contestant Rachael Kirkconnell “a little grace, a little understanding” after it came out that she once attended a plantation-themed college party in 2018 and allegedly “liked” racially insensitive social media posts.

Harrison, 49, made the comments during a heated interview for “Extra” with Rachel Lindsay, who was the first black “Bachelorette.” He subsequently stepped away from the show and issued an apology saying, “By excusing historical racism, I defended it. I invoked the term ‘woke police,’ which is unacceptable. I am ashamed over how uninformed I was. I was wrong.”

Adams, who in 2020 became the second “Bachelorette” of color ever following Lindsay, said Harrison stepping away showed that his apology was genuine.

“I think that by him taking ownership, and just not just saying issue an apology and then just going back to work the next day like nothing happened speaks volumes on his behalf,” Adams, 30, said.

She also noted that “people make mistakes” and added, “If I f–ked up really bad I would want somebody to give me a second chance.”

Kirkconnell, 24, also apologized for her past behavior following Harrison’s interview.
