BBC Breakfast Nina Warhurst hits back at cruel troll for vile dig at appearance

BBC Breakfast host Nina Warhurst has hit back at a bitter troll who attempted to belittle her online.

The popular broadcaster was left mortified when she spotted a cruel message from a viewer on social media platform Twitter as she called him out on his behaviour.

Nina, 42, received the scathing tweet comparing her to a "Christmas pudding" and couldn't help but compile a reply to the bitter tirade.

The viewer wrote: "Dear @BBCBreakfast why have you got @NinaWarhurst dressed as a Christmas pudding today, please keep her away from naked flames as those shiny clothes look highly flammable!"

Nina then quoted the critic as she replied: "Wondering if Simon approaches people IRL to make unkind comments about their appearance. I'm guessing not. "

She then added a yawning face emoji as she added: "Thanks though Simon. This level of feedback is always useful and taken very seriously."

Clearly not one to shy away from a row the offending tweeter then responded to Nina as he tried to make good for his insulting message.

He posted: "Hi Nina, sorry for the misunderstanding, normally your dressed very smart, but today it looked like the beeb wardrobe was getting ready for the Christmas season, never a reflection in yourself, just on today's wardrobe department."

However, Nina wasn't completely satisfied with the "partial apology" as she responded further quipping: "There’s no misunderstanding. It’s unkind. And the wardrobe department can’t consider your feedback, mainly because it doesn’t exist.

"Partial apology accepted. Have a good day."

Feeling the strain from having upset Nina the viewer then apologised further as he replied: "Ok Nina, totally acceptable, it wasn't my intention to insult anyone, so my sincere apologies, have a good day also."

Keen to have the last word on the matter Nina then echoed the positive sentiment concluding: "Thanks a lot Simon."
