The pairing of singer/songwriter John Legend with model/author Chrissy Teigen has become a fan-favorite couple since they started dating twelve years ago. After getting married in 2013 during a grand ceremony at beautiful Lake Como in Italy, together the couple has two adorable children: three-year-old daughter Luna and a one-year-old son named Miles.
Shortly before the pair wed, Legend released the hauntingly beautiful ballad All of Me which he wrote for his soon-to-be bride. The video featuring Legend and Teigen has been viewed in excess of a mind-blowing 1.4 billion times (that’s billion with a B) on YouTube alone. It’s fairly obvious from the song and five-minute, black-and-white musical presentation the two are head-over-heels in love. However, everything hasn’t always been sunshine, rainbows, and roses for the young couple.
Chrissy Teigen and John Legend have had their struggles
With millions of fans following their favorite celebrities on a number of different social media platforms, Teigen has been speaking candidly about some of her struggles openly online. After the birth of their first child, Teigen told the world some of her “perfect imperfections” included dealing with infertility, postpartum depression, and the couple’s choice to implement the IVF (in vitro fertilization) option to conceive a kid together.
Not without criticism from some internet haters, especially the pairs’ unpopular option of picking the gender of their future offspring, Teigen was quick to point out some of the ordinary events facing the couple and how important Legend is when she said:
“He’s so perfect. I got very, very lucky. I don’t know who else could put up with all the s–t we are constantly dealing with. Kids, friends, and work are hard, but John is the easiest part of everything.”
Teigen isn’t afraid to take on tough topics and has also spoken out about body image, weight loss and gain which is something many women can identify with and have dealt with over the years.
Chrissy Teigen launches legendary jabs at John Legend online
These two have now been together as a couple for over a decade, and that’s practically a lifetime by today’s celebrity standards. Teigen doesn’t shy away from airing the couple’s dirty laundry online, which may have led to some friction from John. In one case, Teigen rips on the singer’s vocal warm-up routine on Twitter saying it “makes [her] want to stab [her] brain.”
While Teigen has stolen the show on Lip Sync Battle a number of times over the years, let’s all remember none of these people are singing with their actual voices. That was a pretty low blow “baby” considering her impromptu rendition of Britney Spears’ (Hit Me Baby) One More Time on the show with her husband in attendance cheering on the starlet.
Chrissy Teigen said no when John Legend tried to break up
All the online banter aside, there was a time when this couple was dating that Legend tried to call it quits before they began their practically perfect life together. Teigen’s response and solution to the potential split-up were to just say no. Instead of Teigen turning to Twitter, it was Legend who first took to the internet and shared the story of what almost didn’t happen with the pair. However, Teigen was quick to respond and explain the situation in her Tweet.
Following her blatant denial of them breaking up, apparently the brief split-up with the budding young couple lasted for all of about a half-hour before the pair reconciled.
Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are a great pair
When you look at pictures of the little Legends, they’re pretty much the epitome of their parents and there’s a huge family resemblance. Baby Miles looks so much like Legend and we’re sure Teigen’s little mini-me Luna is the apple of her father’s eye. Even though their parent’s split up for a micro-second while dating, we’re glad this duo stuck it out especially considering their gorgeous children.
