Laura Whitmore ‘in chats with Love Island bosses to replace Caroline Flack’

Laura Whitmore has entered into secret talks with ITV to replace troubled Caroline Flack on the upcoming winter edition of Love Island .

According to reports, which have not been denied by ITV, Laura has already met with show big-wigs about the possible deal.

An insider said: "It’s an amazing job, every TV presenter in Britain wants it, so of course Laura was open to speaking to bosses about it.

"She’s already had a chat about it – as soon as Caroline quit, they needed to sign someone up ASAP."

The source added to The Sun Online: "Laura already knows the production crew from when she goes out to visit Iain on location, and bosses from her previous jobs on ITV."

Daily Star Online exclusively revealed how Caroline was arrested and charged by police last week after an altercation at her north London home.

The former Xtra Factor host will appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Monday December 23 after being charged with assault by beating.

Eye-witnesses who watched the 5am drama unfold in the busy London street told Daily Star Online how they heard Caroline's boyfriend Lewis Burton call out as cops escorted him to a waiting car: "Bruv, I was normal until I met her."

A London Ambulance Service spokesman said at the time: "We were called yesterday (Thursday 12 December) at 5.28am to a residential address in Islington.

"We treated two people at the scene and took one person to hospital."
