A Place in the Sun's Jasmin Harman apologised to the guests for "causing a row" during a house hunting session in the Canary Islands.
The Channel 4 property show presenter took guest Carol and her daughter-in-law Donna to search for a two-bed family home in Lanzarote.
With a tight budget of £150,000, Carol was hoping to purchase a light and airy villa or apartment with swimming pool and a sea view as well as being a close walking distance to restaurants.
The search was difficult and Carol slammed the first property and said the two-bed bungalow "looked like a garage".
It wasn't until Jasmin brought them to a penthouse property with sea views and a large terrace that Carol found her first contender.
She said: "The space is perfect, it's exactly the size we want."
But Donna suggested the location was slightly far from shops and bars because it's a little further outside the town centre.
On the final property, Jasmin showed the pair a ground floor apartment that came with an amazing communal pool.
This time, Donna loved the location of the property but Carol had concerns over the security as the flat sat close to a road.
The next day when they met up again, Jasmin asked Carol and Donna: "So having discussed it all night and considered all the pros and cons and talked it through with the family, which one are you leaning towards?"
Carol stood by her choice and said it was the penthouse property. She explained: "The sea views, beautiful. The space, the outdoor space.:
Jasmin then turned to Donna and asked for her opinion.
Donna replied: "For me, it would be five [final property]. Just because of what it has got around it.

"You know, having young children that don't want to walk, I think it has got everything on the doorstep. We are still split."
She said they were in a dilemma of one either suit Carol and her husband and the other suit the rest of the family.
Jasmin chimed in: "So it is difficult to know where to go from here. You are not going to find anything better than those. Really and truly, we have absolutely left no stone unturned in this search."
Carol replied: "Yeah, until we got to property five, we were on the same page."
Apologising for "throwing a spanner in the works", Jasmin said: "I've actually sabotaged the house hunt by showing you something in such a fantastic location but with other compromises."
At the end Carol decided to do more research and hoped to find a right property to fit for everyone in the family.
