Amy leaves Love Island for psych help after being ‘humiliated and heartbroken’

It may be called Love Island but for Amy Hart the villa is morphing into Heartbreak Hotel after she was savagely dumped not once, but twice, by dashing dancer Curtis Pritchard.

And, after weeping in the Beach Hut, to the Islanders and then getting binned for a second time by Curtis, sources said Love Island bosses decided to step in and "whisk" Amy out of filming to get some therapy.

According to sources Amy is still on the show – she just needed some promised therapy after her "humiliation" – which is played out on national telly.

It is worse for Amy after going from starring in the strongest couple to being single and alone. Worse, it looks like the air stewardess is slowly figuring out Curtis was not as attracted to her as she thought – after Jourdan told her the dancer told her she was beautiful.

"He has never told me that," she glumly replied.

“I thought I’d met my first love and ‘the one’ and it turns out I haven’t. I’m someone’s back-up plan yet again.

“I wouldn’t have ever looked at anyone else. He was my future and now I have nothing and he’s taken that away from me.”

A Love Island spokesman said: "We take the emotional well-being of all the Islanders extremely seriously.

"All the Islanders are therefore fully supported by the professionals on site and by their friends in the villa.  This means Islanders are always able to reach out and talk to someone if they feel the need. We will of course continue to monitor all of our Islanders in line with our robust protocols.

"Love Island holds a mirror up to relationships and all the different dynamics that go with them."

It comes as last year's contestant Laura Anderson said she left the villa twice after being dumped publicly.

In a savage twist, it was the professional ballroom dancer that ended their four-week relationship.

The half-boyfriend and girlfriend have split up – with Curtis cementing himself as this year's biggest villain.

During a tense showdown, Curtis told Amy that he wanted a future with her, but could not promise that his head would not be turned again.

He said: "I’ve meant everything I’ve said…but…I can’t promise you that this won’t happen again.

"And I don’t want to ever hurt you how I've hurt you and it's on me. Everything is on me."

Realising it was all over, Amy said: "Fine. That's that then."

Apologetic Curtis continued: "And I’m sorry for everything I’ve done to you. And you have every right to say whatever you want to say about me and to me. And I’m truly sorry."

Refusing to accept his apology, Amy questioned how he had gone from planning a future together to wanting to couple up with someone else in a matter of days.

She asked: "How can you go from saying I want a future with you to now saying you don't want to be with me?

As Amy got up to leave, she added: "You’re a liar. You’re a compulsive liar."
