Strictly Come Dancing presenter Claudia Winkleman was missing from her BBC Radio Two show on Saturday morning. The star usually hosts her show from 10 o’clock in the morning on Saturday providing a mix of music and chat for her listeners. Claudia also often welcomes a range of celebrity guests onto her radio show. However, this weekend the presenter was absent from the programme.
Claudia is normally front and centre on her Saturday morning BBC Radio Two show, but was missing from the programme this weekend.
Instead, documentary presenter and former Strictly star Stacey Dooley stepped in to host Claudia’s radio show on Saturday morning.
A statement on the BBC Radio Two website shares details of today’s episode and the presenting change.
The statement reads: “Stacey Dooley sits in for Claudia and presents the ultimate celebration of Saturday.
“Bringing a razor-sharp wit and occasional chaos to everything from life’s little wins to the biggest celebrity guests, all set to the perfect Saturday soundtrack.”
However, the website doesn’t reveal why Claudia was missing from the programme.
She usually features celebrity guests on her radio show and last week welcomed pop icon Kylie Minogue.
The presenter also regularly hosts a Strictly analysis section on the show where she takes a closer look at the contestants on the BBC dance show.
Last Saturday, Claudia chatted to Strictly Creative Director Jason Gilkinson as together they made predictions about the upcoming dances in the competition.
She also spoke to stars Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Nigella Lawson on her Radio Two show last weekend.
Fans of Claudia will be glad to know she’s still expected to present Strictly Come Dancing on Saturday evening.
She hosts the BBC dance contest alongside her co-presenter Tess Daly.
However, there will be another Strictly regular missing from the programme on Saturday evening.
Craig Revel-Horwood will be absent from the judging panel after testing positive for Covid-19.
While Craig self-isolates, singer and actress Cynthia Erivo will step in as a guest judge for Musicals Week.
She will join Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and head judge Shirley Ballas on the judging panel.
In a statement released by Strictly Come Dancing, a spokesperson explained Craig is expected to return to the show next week once he’s finished his isolation period.
“While Craig will not be taking part in Strictly Come Dancing this weekend, all being well he will return the following week,” the statement read.
Claudia Winkleman’s radio show airs Saturdays at 10am on BBC Radio Two.
Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday at 6:35pm on BBC One.
