Coronation Street heartbreak as two soap stars join cobbles for affair plot

Coronation Street: Asha tells Dev that she is dating a girl

Hollyoaks star Stephanie Davis and Archers’ regular Ryan Early have been cast as two Coronation Street newcomers set to rock the cobbles.

Stephanie is best known for playing Sinead O’Connor in the Channel 4 soap but will be entering the ITV staple as Courtney Vance.

Courtney is the glamorous wife of Darren, who will be appearing as one of Dev Alahan’s (played by Jimmi Harkishin) business associates.

Ryan is taking on the role of Darren and is widely known for starring as Helen Archer’s love interest, Lee Bryce, in BBC radio soap Archers.

It’s Dev’s son Aadi (Adam Hussain) who will be at the centre of the steamy new plot though, with Courtney setting her sights on him as a toyboy.

It’s not long before Aadi finds himself caught up in a web of deceit as cunning Courtney orchestrates reasons for the pair to meet up behind Dev and Darren’s backs.

However, the unlikely resident is bound to cause some drama as he finds himself coming between a marriage.

Stephanie and Ryan are set to start filming the Coronation Street scenes this week and will appear on screen in July.

“I am absolutely delighted to be joining the cast of Coronation Street, playing the part of Courtney Vance,” Stephanie commented.

“Aadi will quickly find himself way out of his depth as he risks everything for Courtney.

“And while it is the best time he’s ever had in his life, he stands to end up in a whole heap of trouble!”

Will Dev notice something is wrong with his son as he embarks on the risky affair?

Things will probably get explosive, and the unlucky-in-love youngster will probably find he has bitten off more than he can chew.

Coronation Street continues on Wednesday at 8pm on ITV.
