Florence Cassell (played by Joséphine Jobert) helped Neville Parker (Ralf Little) settle into life in Saint Marie after his turbulent arrival and the Death in Paradise detective has since developed feelings for his colleague on the BBC show. However, will he finally tell her how he really feels, or will keep his feelings buried and live to regret it like Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall) who had to watch Camille Bordey (Sara Martins) leave the island while secretly wanting to pursue a romance with her?
In the penultimate instalment of season 10, Neville avoided taking up Florence’s invitation of swimming in the sea together.
The couple had been spending time together ticking a host of island activities off the new lead detective’s bucket list.
However, when Florence suggested swimming in the sea, Neville suddenly clammed up and shut his colleague down.
On his own, the detective was seen in turmoil as he remarked: “I shouldn’t be enjoying spending time with her this much.”

Neville was horrified when his crush revealed she knew why he was avoiding her and announced he was afraid of swimming.
The detective agreed and kept quiet before enjoying a dip in the ocean with Florence but will he ever confess to wanting to be more than friends?
Writing in a Detain Paradise Reddit forum, one desperate fan shared the many questions they had ahead of Friday’s season finale.
“Will Camille be back? Will we see Richard again? Will Neville confess his feelings?” Reddit user Moneypenny3121 said.
“What will happen to Marlon? I’m not ready for this to be over next week. Eight episodes are not enough.”
One fan predicted: “I hope Neville confesses. I went back and watched the episodes again and Humphrey was too late to say his feeling to Camille so it could also turn out like that.”
“I hope so too. For once I want a love story to work out,” the original Reddit user replied.
Humphrey developed feelings for his partner Camille when he joined the island in season three.

However, he kept quiet as Camille prepared to leave Saint Marie after being invited to resume her undercover work in France.
At the last minute, the lead detective raced to the harbour to say goodbye to Camille just as her boat was leaving.
The pair got to say their final goodbyes but Humphrey never got the chance to explore his feelings for his partner.
Will Neville muster up the courage and be honest or will he repeat Humphrey’s mistake?
Death in Paradise fans hope the pair will finally get together as one tweeted: “Florence and Neville are the cutest ‘will-they-won’t-they’ ever #DeathInParadise.”
“Can’t wait for the series finale of @deathinparadise next week, but please Neville just tell Florence how you feel#DeathInParadise,” another added.
A third remarked: “The Neville/Florence ship better sail well. I’m still not over Humphrey and Camille never getting together. #DeathInParadise.”
Someone else said: “When will Neville and Florence get together then?? #DeathInParadise.”
Death in Paradise continues on BBC One on Friday at 9pm.
