Dr Hilary was forced to briefly take over Lorraine on Thursday's episode as host Lorraine Kelly was left unable to speak due to losing her voice, leaving the star communicating via cards.
During Good Morning Britain, Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard headed to the ITV studio to see what was coming up that day to which a silent Lorraine, 63, appeared – as they explained she had lost her voice.
Holding up signs with pieces of information on it, Dr Hilary was also forced to step in and take over the hosting duties as he helped a silent Lorraine.
To which Kate, 55, joked: "I don't like the idea that female presenters are reduced to writing things on cards because Ben will bring this in and then we will be silenced Lorraine! Let's hope Dr Hilary has the trick and he can get your voice back enough."
With Ben, 48, joking: "That's going to be a very thoroughly entertaining hour with Lorraine with no voice!", to which Kate quipped: "It will be like watching it on subtitles, won't it? If she's holding that up!"
It remains to be seen if Lorraine will be able to host her show at 9am without the cards and if Dr Hilary will be stepping in.
Lorraine's official Twitter tweeted: "The challenge of vocal rest is almost impossible with @GMB 's @benshephard and @kategarraway making you laugh @DrHilaryJones has 30mins to help get @reallorraine 's voice back for 9am! #Lorraine."
