Elaine's promise to the Queen Vic as EastEnders video reveals aftermath of twist

Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) makes her presence felt in EastEnders upon taking her rightful place behind the bar and we kind of love her already.

The new landlady is the mother of current publican Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), who decided to partner up with her mum following the tragic disappearance of Mick Carter (Danny Dyer), who has now been presumed dead.

Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), as viewers know, had her heart set on joining Linda behind the bar, reclaiming her former glory as landlady to the iconic Queen Vic boozer, so it’s no wonder that she was left in shock when she discovered that Linda decided to go in a different direction.

A heated showdown ensued between the two warring friends at the conclusion of Wednesday’s offering of the soap, with Sharon resorting to some vile comments to berate Linda, branding her ‘weak’ and ‘a drunk’.

Harsh.

Their confrontation was, however, interrupted by the arrival of Elaine, who showed up to claim the Vic as her own, much to Sharon and Linda’s shock.

The above preview clip, taken from Thursday’s (May 11) edition of the BBC One soap, sees Elaine waste little time in making her presence felt, as she heads behind the bar, getting reacquainted with the boozer, before charming pretty much everyone in the pub.

Sharon, however, is not charmed. In fact, she’s still seething, reiterating Elaine’s sentiment that she thought Linda was her friend, before storming out.

Elaine, meanwhile, addresses everyone present in the pub, promising to keep the boozer a family one while she is in charge, much to the delight of the punters, before offering free drinks for a half an hour.

Talk about making an entrance.

Can Linda make things right with Sharon though? Will Sharon be able to forgive her? What’s more, will Linda be able to ignore the hurtful comments Sharon made?

EastEnders airs these scenes on Thursday May 11 at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
