EMMERDALE's David Metcalfe’s recovery following the shooting ordeal continued on Wednesday night – and eagle-eyed fans have spotted something very wrong with it.
Yesterday evening’s edition of the popular Yorkshire-based soap continued to explore David’s dramatic love triangle with Meena Jutla and Victoria Sugden.
Viewers were left horrified after the character, played by Matthew Wolfenden, was shot during a gun siege last month after he took a bullet for Victoria.
The opening of Wednesday’s show began with Meena and David getting dressed after she had nominated him for a community award for his bravery.
Fans, however, were distracted during the scene as the actor delivered his lines with a croaky voice as he continues his recovery from the grisly gunshot wound.
Taking to social media, viewers of the show claimed that the wound shouldn’t have impacted his ability to talk.

One fan said: “Why does David in Emmerdale talk like he’s had a throat operation? He was shot, so why does he need to talk that way?”
Another added: “He’s been shot… and it has affected his voice for some unknown reason.”
Another commented: “David’s death voice is really annoying me now! You would think he got shot in the throat.”
David has since made a recovery as Victoria confessed she loved him while his partner Meena was away in Ibiza.
The villainous Meena is continuing to manipulate David and has now convinced him to cut ties with Victoria after the Isabel Hodgins character was caught snooping in their bedroom.
Emmerdale returns to screens at 7pm tonight on ITV.
