Meena (played by Paige Sandhu) has caused a whole manner of heartache in the Emmerdale village since she rocked up last year but only in the last few months has she showcased her killer capabilities. At the moment, many villagers think she is psychotic but no one knows the true lengths she has gone to in order to keep her murderous secrets harboured. However, it seems like her sister Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker) could be the only person who might be able to silence the ITV soap villain once and for all as one star of the show has hinted at Meena’s exit from the programme.

Although Manpreet grew up with Meena and spent the majority of her life trying to shake her sister from her heels, she hasn’t a clue about who her sibling has killed and why she thought she had to do it.

The only questionable behaviour she knows Meena has displayed is having an affair with her ex-husband and not seeming to care Andrea Tate (Anna Nightingale) was dead a couple of weeks ago.

Manpreet is going to be in for the shock of her life when she realises what her sister has been up to but she will know she will need to take action.

As the sisters enter into a heated confrontation, they will both know only one of them will make it out alive whilst the other will be killed off.

In an interview with Express.co.uk and other publications, the actress who plays Meena, Paige, explained how she would like her character to leave the show.

Discussing her exit, Paige said she would love for Meena to be caught out, adding: “In my dream, Meena and Manpreet are there in the street and it’s nighttime.

“Meena is about to kill someone and Manpreet has to save this person by killing Meena and so she does it,” the soap star said in detail.

“Then Meena dies in Manpreet’s arms and they have this beautiful sisterly moment where Meena almost confesses love for her [sister].

“Like [Meena] is almost normal, she’s able to feel something and then she dies. That is what I want,” Paige added.

The actress never stated whether this victim was number three, five or 10 so it could be some time off before she makes a deadly exit.

However, it is likely Manpreet could be the one to deliver the fatal blow in a poetic end to Meena’s time in the village.

As Manpreet committed murder in order to save another life, she could be spared jail time for killing her own sister.

The weight of the guilt would be immeasurable as although she knew Meena killed people, Manpreet would have never meant to kill her sibling.

Following the villain’s death, the beloved villager could struggle to accept what has happened and the memories of Meena in the village.

Therefore, she too could leave as part of a double exit storyline as the Jutla/Sharma sisters leave the programme for good.

Unfortunately before Meena’s exit, the killer is going to claim another life as vendettas in the village increase at pace.

Not only does she have it in for David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) and Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins), she has also created an enemy of Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson).

After trashing the latter’s house earlier this week, the villain is claiming she had nothing to do with it and is being framed.

Next week’s episodes will also see her begin a new feud with Ben Tucker (Simon Lennon) and Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller).

She will discover Ben has evidence of her trying to drown Victoria and as they enter into a heated confrontation, Meena ends up on the floor unconscious.

So as her list of enemies grows, will any of the above candidates be in line to find themselves the victim of the killer?

Paige also spoke about taking on her persona of such a villainous character and what she does to get into the head space of a psychopath.

The actress explained: “Meena killed twice before she came to Emmerdale and what I do is replay one of those murders that she commits and I change my body language.

“I stand like her and I clear my head of any thoughts because I imagine killing that person and I feel like that’s what I do.

“It’s such a satisfying role to play, playing a character that does these things which are very, very out of the norm.

“It’s so fun to play so yes I want her to keep getting away with it.”

Viewers seem to be divided over the character on social media recently, with some for the character and others against.

Taking to Twitter in light of recent episodes, Jord wrote: “Meena is the best character in any soap right now I absolutely love her.”

Suzette posted: “#Emmerdale oh my God. what the hell was that with Meena in the mirror?? When is she leaving? Terrible.”

DeLuca commented: “Meena you could do so much better than David. He really isn’t worth your time oh my God #Emmerdale.”

“Forget all the naff same old depressing news, what about the serious stuff like, #Emmerdale why is the manic Meena storyline still got legs?” Sal-v remarked.

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode airing on Thursdays at 8pm.
