Fans brand Ant and Dec ‘let downs’ for not writing their own I’m A Celeb jokes

I'm A Celebrity… A Jungle Story viewers were left far from impressed this evening after discovering Ant and Dec don't write their own jokes.

During the special round-up show ahead of I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 2020 kicking off next week, the Geordie duo's day to day life while filming the show was revealed.

Letting the cameras follow them around, fans watched as Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly woke up early at the Versace hotel before heading for a script run through.

During the run-through the lads are informed of the jokes producers think will work for that day's show.

Ant and Dec then run through the script to work out how to deliver the lines and if it works on camera.

While it's not uncommon for presenters to have their lines written for them, many viewers of the hit show were left shocked by the revelation.

Taking to Twitter, one fan wrote: "Maybe I'm just dumb but I'm seriously shocked and upset that Ant and Dec don't write their wee #ImACeleb jokes WTF."

Another added: "@antanddec that’s just soooo wrong!

"Telling us your jokes are written and scripted for you. What an utter letdown.

"I thought YOU were funny… #ImACeleb"

A third moaned: "So Ant and Dec don't make up there own jokes for I'm A Celeb that's a bit s***.

"I thought it was them making the jokes up on spot #ImACeleb"

Despite the upcoming series of I'm A Celeb… being based in Wales rather than on the west coast of Australia due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Ant and Dec will once again return to host the show.

Over the past month production workers have been seen transforming the ruins of Gwrych castle into a TV set.

A temporary roof has been added to make a sleeping area for the campmates while the main central area of camp has been left open-air to allow for fires.

As with the usual series, Bushtucker trials will take place away from the main camp.

Rumoured celebs taking part include Team GB legend Mo Farah, presenter Vernon Kay and Strictly Come Dancing pro AJ Pritchard.
