I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! contestantOwen Warner was left “beating himself up” after only securing one out of six stars in his most recent Bushtucker Trial.
The Hollyoaks star partnered up with former Radio 1 DJChris Moyles to complete the challenge after the TV presenter wanted someone who was “very good” at trials to help him complete the task.
Called The Savage Sorting Office, the Bushtucker Trial saw 48 year oldChris use a crane to dangle Owen, 23, over a water tank filled with bags that he had to search through in order to gather all of the stars.
But as Owen searched through yabbies, mud crabs and eels in order to find the highly desired stars, the soap star was unable to land them in the giant postbox five out of six times – much to his frustration.
As a result, Owen was left complaining that the task was “so annoying” and apologised to Chris for his performance in the challenge.
“My throwing was awful, sorry. I’m fuming at myself,” he said, before returning to camp and explaining: “One star and I take full blame. It was my fault.”
Speaking in the Bush Telegraph, he said: “I can’t help but beat myself up a lot. I’m so hungry and I wanted to bring back good news and I can’t.”
But while most of the I’m A Celeb campmates responded well to the news, some were less positive about the idea of only having one meal.
“Pretty gutted about one star to tell you the truth having… we’ve been lucky in getting full stars for the last few days. We’ll make the most of it, it’ll be fine, but, ah…,”Matt Hancock told the Bush Telegraph.
With Owen’s frustration clear to see, I’m A Celeb viewers quickly took to Twitter to express their devastation for the actor.
“They did not have to put him through that. Man just brings good vibes [crying emoji] #ImACeleb,” wrote one Twitter user.
“Why they got to be so hard on Owen #ImACeleb,” added another.
Meanwhile a third added: “That’s it. I’m getting a helicopter, flying into the jungle and giving Owen the biggest hug imaginable #ImACeleb.”
This isn’t the first time that Owen’s hunger has led to some tension, however, withthe star previously butting heads with pop icon Boy George of the jungle’s rations.
After Boy George admitted to stealing a spare banana and eating it himself, Owen warned that keeping food away from him would cause an issue.
