Joey Essex confirms Dancing on Ice romance with partner after skating debut

Joey Essex all but confirmed his rumoured romance with his Dancing on Ice partner Vanessa Bauer after he gave fans an insight into how their training has been going so far.

On Sunday night the beloved ITV talent show returned for its 15th series on the ice and it’s fair to say fans were overjoyed to see the winter special hit the airwaves once again.

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield welcomed loyal viewers to the opening show which saw six celebrities making their skating debut.

But it’s fair to say the couple that surprised fans the most was the TOWIE favourite, 32, who was joined alongside former winner Vanessa as they danced their hearts out to Mack the Knife.

For their first performance, the dancing duo took home a respectable 27 marks out of 40 after the star-studded judging panel shared their criticisms.

Viewers at home were quick to pick up on the sizzling chemistry between the pair, and it appeared as though mum-of-three Holly noticed it too.

The ITV host probed: “It would be fair to say you’re really enjoying this partnership, aren’t you?”

Pausing for a few moments, Joey admitted: “Well yeah, I mean… she’s easy on the eye” as Holly added: “Yes she is and she’s an excellent skater!”

Holly’s grilling came after the TV personality was heard asking for the 26-year-old skater’s number in the teaser for the new series.

But the This Morning host wasn’t the only one to ask questions about his new-found friendship with Vanessa this week, after he appeared as a guest on Lorraine just days before the launch.

As he put in the final hours ahead of his skating debut, the loveable Scott asked him: “So, of course everybody says you’re going out. That is what they say all the time.”

Joey replied: “Lovely girl. I mean she’s a great partner. She is beautiful, she is a lovely girl and we get on really well.

“It is nice to be with someone who… we literally spend so much time together on the ice. So it is nice to be happy.”
