Masked Singer fans convinced Phoenix is super-famous A-list Marvel star after spotting ‘clues’ | The Sun

THE MASKED Singer fans think they've worked out Phoenix is a major Hollywood star.

Eagle-eyed viewers of the show have already been putting the clues together to try and unveil the identities of the celebs.

The mythical bird walked out to Kaiser Chiefs hit Ruby, and impressed the panel with their rendition of Daft Punk's Get Lucky on Sunday night.

Clues for the character included rising from the ashes, following a hollow trail and mention of the mystery person reinventing themselves.

Their riddle was: "I'm all flame and fire, my feathers ablaze, it may intrigue you to learn, I've been a catchphrase."

Viewers took the clues to Reddit and began sifting through them.

One person said after their performance in week one: "As soon as the VT started yesterday with 'Shall we begin' I instantly thought Benedict Cumberbatch.

"I am now convinced and will not be dissuaded."

Another said: "He can sing and I have not seen anyone mentioning the ring of fire in the background of his first performance.

"Lord of the rings, he did Smaugs voice in the hobbit. detective clues..I really can see it being him."

A number of fans have also guessed David Tennant from the way Phoenix walks and acts – as well as the Doctor Who link of the Doctors regenerating. 

The show detectives have their own ideas about the celebrity hiding behind the weird and wonderful Phoenix costume.

Jonathan Ross agrees with fans and guessed Doctor Who star David Tenant, whilst Rita Ora said Jason Orange from Take That, due to the colour of the costume.
