Masked Singer's Traffic Cone is Sex Education and Ghosts star, claims new fan theory

MASKED Singer viewers are putting on their detective hats to work out who the person is under the Traffic Cone costume.

His debut performance on the ITV show was a version of Rick Astley's 1987 hit Never Gonna Give You Up.

Judges Rita Ora, Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross and Mo Gilligan were left stumped over the hidden star's identity.

Davina suggested he could be Sky Sports legend Chris Kamara, Mo offered sportsman Alistair Brownlee and Rita picked Olly Murs, while Jonathan threw Prince Harry's name into the mix.

And a new – extremely detailed – fan theory now claims the hidden celebrity is none other than a well-known Sex Education, Horrible Histories and Ghosts star.

Actor Jim Howick, 42, has been named as the unknown vocalist by a fan who states: "Traffic Cone does look like his character, Pat Butcher, in Ghosts, with the moustache."

Going on to point out three further reasons why they believed Jim, who plays the role of Mr Hendrick in Netflix's Sex Education, they added on an online forum: "Jim has a very versatile voice including doing a Celtic Rap Battle on HH as well as singing a Richard III love ballad.

"He has a strong vocal talent."

Three celebrities have already been exposed on the show hosted by Joel Dommett – Lionfish as Will Young, Snow Leopard as Gloria Hunniford, and Chandelier as Heather Small.

The Masked Singer returns Saturday, 7pm, ITV1.
