Peaky Blinders: Tommy and Polly feature in series five bonus clip
Peaky Blinders season six is expected to start up production again very soon as viewers get a bit closer to finding out what’s next for the Shelby family. For fans curious about what filming on the show is actually like, some of the stars of the series have previously opened up about their experiences behind the camera.
Peaky Blinders has become one of the most loved television shows of the past decade over its five seasons so far.
The series is known for its unique style, amazing soundtrack, violent scenes and tense drama.
Therefore, some might be wondering what it is like to be on the set of the show and transported back to 1920s Birmingham.
Former star Alexander Siddig who played Ruben Oliver in season three recently opened up about this.

Speaking to NME, he explained how the atmosphere on set is quite serious and “full-on.”
Siddig said: “It is not fun. It’s full-on. There are people kicking off left, right and centre.
“The Peaky Blinders lot are a group of method actors.
“You walk into a room and there’s a bunch of them sitting around a table all singing Peaky Blinders songs and you’re like, ‘Excuse me, wrong door’.
“They have a pack mentality and they hang out together, they’re fierce.”
Despite this, the star did add how nice the cast themselves were as well.
He continued: “They’re lovely lovely people obviously, but they’re in their characters.
“Normally you’re on a TV show or a movie and people aren’t in their characters.
“They’re just hanging around and milling about but no way, on this one that wasn’t happening.”
Of course, this is only one actor’s perspective of filming on the show with many others opening up about their own experiences.

Aunt Polly actor Helen McCrory has previously revealed the mood on set is very focused due to how quickly they have to work.
She told Idler back in 2019 about the atmosphere on set: “It’s fantastic.
“I do a lot of my scenes with Cillian [Murphy], he’s become a good friend.
“You get to know all of the cast and the fact that you work very very quickly is great because it is very focused.”
Oswald Mosley actor Sam Claflin also opened up to Virgin Media back in 2019 about how much he enjoyed it.
He said: “Truthfully, every day I was on set really felt like a pinch-me moment.
“Most of the scenes are with Cillian and me. Most of the time, I walk into an office and he’s sitting behind a desk with a cigarette and a whiskey.
“I feel like I’ve lived that moment [by watching] so many of the episodes previously, so it felt a bit like an out-of-body experience.”
Peaky Blinders seasons 1-5 are available to stream on Netflix now.
