When Sister Wives fans watched the Brown family pack up and leave Las Vegas for Flagstaff, Arizona, few thought it was a good idea. The move seemed haphazard, and the Browns seemed ill-prepared for the undertaking of building houses on an undeveloped lot. Several years later, and their concerns are validated. One wife has opted out of the family, and fans believe another is teetering on the brink. None of that was a big surprise. What is shocking is the fact that only one of Kody Brown’s three remaining wives seems even remotely interested in living on Coyote Pass, the undeveloped acreage they purchased ahead of their move. So, is Janelle Brown, Kody’s second wife really the only one who still believes in the vision?
The season 16 trailer of ‘Sister Wives’ indicates only Janelle has any interest in Coyote Pass
The season 16 trailer for Sister Wives promises some high drama moments. All of those moments seem to lead up to Christine Brown’s decision to move away from her husband of more than 20 years. The trailer didn’t just reveal Christine’s angst, though. In the short sneak peek, Janelle is seen telling the others that they can give their property to her.
Fans of the series were quick to surmise that Janelle is actually the only one interested in calling the acreage home at this point. Kody’s first wife, Meri Brown, seems to spend most of her time in Utah. Her bed and breakfast is located in Parowan, Utah. She seems to have almost no connection to Arizona and appears happier than she has been in years. As fans now know, Christine sold her home and moved to Utah to be closer to her kids.
That leaves Robyn Brown, Kody’s fourth and legal wife, Janelle, and Kody to figure out the living situation. Robyn and Kody own a home close to the undeveloped property and don’t seem keen on uprooting their lives, either. For more than a year, Sister Wives viewers have theorized that Kody and Robyn are in a monogamous marriage but are masquerading as polygamists for the benefit of a TLC paycheck. In short, Janelle might be the only member of the Brown family that cares one bit about Coyote Pass.
Her summer living decision adds credence to the theory
The season 16 trailer seems to point to Janelle remaining interested in Coyote Pass when the rest of her family have waning enthusiasm for the property. Her summer living choice, which occurred after season 16 was filmed, shores up the fan theory.
Over the summer, Janelle’s landlord sold the property she was renting. Instead of scrambling to find another rental, the mother of six opted to buy a trailer and park on Coyote Pass. She lived on the property for the summer and through the early fall. Three of her six children appeared to live there, too. The experience hasn’t dissuaded her from calling the land home. The rest of the Browns couldn’t be bothered. There seemed to be very few visits from the rest of the family.
Will the Brown family ever make a final decision on the property?
While Coyote Pass appears to be a topic that will once again dominate the conversation on Sister Wives, a final decision has yet to be made. At least, it seems that way based on social media posts. On November 7, Janelle informed her followers that she would be putting her trailer in storage until the spring. She intends to return it to the family’s land once the weather warms.
The Instagram admission makes it clear that the mother of six is in it for the long haul, but she has no hope of having a house to call home in the next year. She does, however, seem confident that some utilities, like water and electricity, will be available at that point. Sister Wives fans aren’t so sure about that.
It has been years since the family purchased the property. Still, not a single move has been made to develop it. Brown family followers don’t see that changing. In fact, they are more confident than ever that the Brown family will sell the property before ground is ever broken. They don’t think Janelle will have much of a say in the matter.
