Spoilers: Abuse memories return for Mick as he visits care home in EastEnders

Katy Lewis (Simone Lahbib) has been working hard on gaslighting child abuse victim Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) in EastEnders into believing that memories he has of their relationship when he was 12.

Mick is deeply confused as he recalls his trauma but Katy insists that he has confused real life with fantasy. But when he insists on visiting the care home where he stayed when under Katy’s care, she is deeply worried as memories start to stir.

Mick and Katy visit the care home where he grew up. Katy is nervous about what the visit could trigger, but Mick is determined to get answers.

When they arrive, they find the care home boarded but Mick doesn’t give up and once inside, old memories come flooding back. Katy suggests that Mick’s trauma was to do with Shirley (Linda Henry) leaving him, but Mick is still convinced it’s something else.

As he drags through his confused memories, all Katy can do is try and manipulate him – but fans have seen through her and know she is just trying to cover her on tracks. But will Mick fall under her spell again as she exploits his state of mind?

As Mick continues to dwell on it, Linda (Kellie Bright) is still determined to get through to him and get him to open up.

She plans a romantic evening – which is designed to resemble a date they went on when Mick was 12. With Linda unaware that she exposing Mick again to a time when he was being abused as a child, she is stunned by his bad reaction.

But has another new memory come to light that might lead Mick to speak out against Katy?
