Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) sought solace in the booze in Coronation Street tonight (November 16), after he was brutally attacked by a thug in a horrific showdown.
Peter had a tough day in tonight’s double-bill of the ITV soap, after he clashed with Carla Connor (Alison King) in a heated argument.
He ultimately said some incredibly hurtful things, leaving Carla upset, and — as the conflict continued — he headed off to work.
However, while out on a job, Peter was attacked by a thug, who then proceeded to steal his cab.
A passerby named Barry found a battered and bruised Peter lying on the floor, and offered to assist him by calling the police.
However, matters were complicated when Barry offered him a drink from his hipflask!
Peter ultimately downed every last drop, before returning to Weatherfield and heading to the shop to purchase some mouthwash.
Carla was horrified after she learned about the attack, and apologised for the argument they’d had earlier that day, before reiterating that she loved him.
Peter headed out into the yard to rinse his mouth out in order to mask the smell of the alcohol.
Will Carla discover that Peter has relapsed?
Or will Peter decide to keep shtum?
Coronation Street continues Wednesday November 18 at 7:30pm on ITV.
