Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) has been left grieving her childhood sweetheart Mick (Danny Dyer) in EastEnders, after he went missing at sea, presumed dead, on Christmas day.
However, she refuses to let her grief get in the way when Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) rushes into the pub in a panic.
Linda leaves Alfie (Shane Richie) worried when she tells him she can’t face work.
However, she is keen to lend a helping hand when Jay arrives, and confesses that he has forgotten to book the wedding reception.
Pushing her grief aside, she is determined to help a friend in need, and immediately sets about helping Jay to get things sorted.
As the pair work together to make dying Lola’s (Danielle Harold) day special, Linda can’t help but ask Jay how he copes knowing that Lola will die, following her diagnosis with an incurable brain tumour.
Jay is open and honest as they share a meaningful conversation about the power of hope.
With the wedding reception potentially saved, will Jay’s words help Linda deal with her own feelings, as she comes to terms with her loss?
