It was another all-female final in The Apprentice as Dani Donovan, Megan Hornby, Marnie Swindells, Rochelle Anthony and Victoria Goulbourne underwent the dreaded interview stage. The candidates had their business plans torn apart by experts including Karren Brady and Claude Littner, who had analysed them with a fine tooth comb. The penultimate episode of the BBC staple is always one the finalists fear, and speaking to and other media, Dani opened up on the “scariest” interviewer.

“Do you know what? Linda [Plant] is scary,” Dani commented.

“Because she’s so feisty, and she just goes through all of this stuff and you just kind of don’t even have a moment to answer back and defend yourself.

“So I definitely found her the most intimidating. However, I think you just have to shrug it off.

“I think I came out of the interview with Linda and I was I was sort of laughing because I just thought it was so bad it was laughable, and if you don’t laugh, you’ll cry in those situations.”

Describing how “tough” Linda was on her during the episode, she admitted Lord Sugar’s adviser was harder on her than he was.

“Yeah, I think it’s because she really did give us a grilling and that’s what she’s there to do.

“So I mean Lord Sugar was tough, but I think he was very, very fair.

“And when you got to the boardroom he sort of knew everything that had gone on.

“And obviously he’s addressing everyone, whereas Linda at that time, she was just addressing me and is like firing away and you’re just taking the bullet, basically.”

Paying tribute to Karren, Dani explained the entrepreneur would be a great “replacement” if Alan ever left the show.

“I think Karren would be a very worthy replacement for Lord Sugar,” she stated.

“I think she would be an absolute boss babe on there, and I think she would be great at that job.

“She really knows everything that goes on, and she is just as stern, I would say.

When asked if the interviews made her question her business at all, Dani replied: “I actually feel like it gave me quite a lot of confidence.

“I had an interview with Karren and I know my business plan wasn’t amazing, and she said to me, ‘Of all people, you’ve worked so hard to be here, why did you not put more effort into it?’

“And I was just like, ‘I don’t know!’ So that was quite nice that she recognised that I’d worked really hard.

The 26-year-old went on to admit Karren’s was the interview that “got her” emotionally.

“I think throughout the process, you want to impress her obviously,” she detailed.

“You’re there for a long time and I think it’s not until you get that close that you realise what’s in front of you.”

The Apprentice continues on Thursday at 9pm on BBC One.
