This Morning fans gush over Alison Hammonds glam look during show return with Dermot

Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary were back on our screens today as they returned to This Morning hosting duties – and people were gushing over Alison's glamorous look.

The 47 year old looked incredible as she showed off her recent weight loss in a black top and trousers with a leopard print shirt thrown over the top to jazz it up.

Her dark hair was styled into a sleek bob with a side fringe and her makeup was applied to perfection with a bronzed smoky eye, extra lashes and a slick of gloss on her lips to finish off the look.

People went wild for Alison's aesthetic, with one person tweeting: “Alison looks amazing.”

A second commented: “What a breath of fresh air Alison is. Looking gorgeous today too.”

Alison and Dermot made their big return to This Morning after enjoying an extended seven-week summer break, during which time their slot was filled with guest presenters such as Josie Gibson and Vernon Kay.

Their appearance comes after a difficult week for This Mornin, and its regular presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, who have come under fire for "jumping the queue" to see the Queen Lying-in-State last week.

Although the stars and ITV bosses have insisted that they were there in a professional capacity and visited as 'accredited media' to film a segment for ITV, the backlash from the public has been huge after people queued for up to 24 hours to pay their respects to the late monarch.

An online petition to have them axed from their presenting roles on This Morning has reached nearly 70,000 signatures and celebrities from Eamonn Holmes to Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan have waded in on the row.

Whilst Alison and Dermot didn't join the queue to see the Queen Lying-in-State, they did pay their respects by laying flowers outside Buckingham Palace, a visit that was televised for This Morning.

Dermot said: "We thought it'll be so lovely to see the flowers by the rails, but actually as soon as you go through the park you see them amongst the trees, and the impromptu paths people have created through."

He added: "I think we both (he and Alison) thought it was going to be a lot more sad and sombre than it actually was. And actually what we found was just this moment of reflection, contemplation and gratitude."

Alison added: "We met this one lady called Sheila and she just burst into tears."

She added: "It wasn't because she was sad it was more, she was happy she'd lived a life where the Queen had been and she was just so grateful that she'd experienced it."
