Coronation Street is set to welcome a familiar face back to the folk on Wednesday night when Jenny Bradley (Sally Ann Matthews) returns – and we’ve definitely missed seeing her face at the Rovers.
However she’s returned without husband Johnny (Richard Hawley) in tow – leaving both viewers and Weatherfield residents wondering just where he is.
You might recall that Johnny has a past with Scott (Tom Roberts), and it’s obviously not a pleasant one as Johnny was so keen to evade him at all costs previously.
But just where is Johnny – and will he be coming back soon?
Where is Johnny in Coronation Street?
Johnny has been in France with Jenny, where the pair were visiting Eva – and we learn in Wednesday night’s episode of the soap that he decided at the last minute to stay on there a little bit longer.
All of which could prove frustrating for Scott, who we learned earlier in the year has some kind of past history with Johnny, and clearly wants to confront him about it.
We saw the pair meet briefly back in April when Johnny ran into Scott before they left, who greeted him like an old friend.
Later, as he left for the airport he told him there were no hard feelings about the past – but what exactly happened between them? And why has he been so keen to keep him from Jenny?
We’ll have to keep watching to find that one out, but Scott Roberts previously offered some food for thought on the topic.
‘It becomes obvious pretty much straight away, as soon as Johnny clocks him, that there is a past there. It takes quite a lot to frighten Johnny, he’s no pushover and he is quite a strong guy,’ he previously said.
‘So viewers will know from the outset that this outwardly charming, funny man with his witty lines and his confidence is not all that he seems.
‘There is an interaction with Johnny – he really doesn’t want to come back from France to face this guy and I can say there is definitely a past there, a dark one and I am intrigued to see what theories fans come up with. Fans are great at speculating so I am sure there will be some outlandish ones.’
Coronation Street continues on Wednesday night on ITV at 7.30pm.
